Professional Experience

Sarah Jamil is a Legal Associate with three (3) years of post-qualification experience in civil and commercial litigation. A First-Class Honours graduate from the National University of Malaysia, she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2024.

Sarah began her legal career at Fahda Nur & Yusmadi, where she joined the firm upon graduation and was subsequently retained as a Legal Associate following her pupillage. Her practice covers debt recovery, contractual disputes, shareholders’ and corporate governance matters, as well as construction disputes including proceedings in the adjudication and arbitration tribunal. She is also currently expanding her practice into employment and industrial relations matters before the Industrial Court of Malaysia.

Notwithstanding that she is in her third year of practice, Sarah has been entrusted with managing files independently and conducting trials at the lower and the High Courts. She has also assisted in complex, high-value disputes, including claims exceeding RM1 billion, and has been involved in matters before all levels of the Malaysian courts, including the Magistrates’, Sessions, High Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court.

Throughout her practice, Sarah has been involved in several notable matters. These include assisting in successfully defending a corporation against an adjudication claim of up to RM50 million arising from a construction dispute, acting for former directors of a public listed company in claims involving allegations of misrepresentation and fraud in a development agreement, and assisting in a claim by a corporation against a state government for trespass and unlawful land possession exceeding RM1.7 billion. She has also been involved in defending an award-winning animation company in a copyright infringement claim, and in acting for a corporation in disputes involving breach of a shareholders’ agreement, unjust enrichment, and conspiracy against a private hospital and its directors.
